HEADTEACHER’S WELCOME
As the newly appointed Headteacher of Christ the King Catholic High School, it is both a privilege and a joy to welcome you to our school website.
Christ the King is a voluntary-aided, co-educational Catholic secondary school for students aged 11 to 16, serving the vibrant Catholic community of Preston within the Diocese of Lancaster. Our dedicated staff are well supported by the experienced Governing Body, as well as the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi Academy Trust where we work as ‘One Family in Christ’ with the other schools in our Trust.
While our school has evolved over the years, our core purpose remains unchanged: to provide a modern education rooted in timeless Catholic values.
We are proud to be a culturally rich and inclusive family of learners—students and staff alike—who celebrate diversity and unity through shared values. As a Catholic school, Christ is at the centre of all we do. We nurture the spiritual development of every member of our community, encouraging each individual to grow in faith, wisdom, and compassion.
Our mission statement, inspired by the Gospel of John, guides our daily life: “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15)
This call to love and serve is the foundation of our ethos. We believe that every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Our aim is to build a community in Christ where every student is supported to reach their full potential—spiritually, academically, and personally.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, enriched by a growing range of subjects and qualifications. Beyond the classroom, our students enjoy a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities that foster creativity, leadership, and personal growth.
Whether you are a prospective parent, student, or visitor, we hope this website gives you a glimpse into the heart of our school. We look forward to welcoming you in person and sharing the journey ahead.
Warm regards,
Mrs C Jones
